Greenall’s FINK return with life-affirming single.

BERLIN resident, native Cornishman FIN GREENALL leads his rootsy rockers FINK back into the spotlight with the life-affirming ‘What Would You Call Yourself,’ taken from July’s ten-track album, ‘Beauty In Your Wake.’

“If you were alone in this world, what would you call yourself?” said Greenall.

“Without the pressure of others, how would you see yourself? ‘What Would You Call Yourself’ is about the power of language and also the pointlessness of names, brands and gimmicks. It’s about identity, but from within yourself, not your identity in relation to others.”

One-time John Legend, Amy Winehouse, and Colin Stetson collaborator Greenall and his band – Tim Thornton (drums/guitar) and Guy Whittaker (bass) – were invited to record at producer Sam Okell’s newly built studio and clearly benefitted from the solitude and back-to-earth atmosphere of the small village of Zennor, on the Atlantic coast.

Going ‘overground’ in the music world in 1997 as a dance-orientated signee to Ninja Tunes’ sister label N-Tone, Greenall’s career has travelled diverse roads. The reformed, classic FINK line-up was responsible for the band’s 2006 breakthrough album, ‘Biscuits for Breakfast,’ which was followed by, ‘Distance and Time,’ Sort of Revolution,’ and ‘Perfect Darkness’ as the band became increasingly experimental, both in the studio and live.

Beauty In Your Wake’ is released via band’s ‘R’COUP’D’ label on July 5th.
