Dream-like pop and lo-fi beats? It can only mean the return of STUMBLEINE
AMBIENT LEGEND STUMBLEINE teases his eighth album ‘Deleted Scene,’ with the release of new single, ‘Cinderhaze.’
Stumbleine is the alias of Peter Cooper, and with roots in the UK post-rock scene, the reclusive producer has been blending dream-like pop with fractured lo-fi beats for well over a decade.
“’Deleted Scene’ refers to the memories that play over and over inside your head, replaying hazy copies of hazy copies that evolve into a bittersweet fever dream,” said Cooper. “Everybody has their own unique collection of deleted scenes slowly distorting and fading away.”
The new album opens with recent single, ‘I Can Stop Anytime I Like,’ fusing addictive, sampled vocals with soft, glassy guitars, while ‘Ursa Minor Sleeps Forever’ is a fittingly sleepy, circling soft slow synth affair, however, on ‘Catastrophette,’ Cooper crafts a dramatic and poignant web of sound, showcasing the album’s versatility.
‘Deleted Scene’ is released June 14th digitally, as a CD in a colour printed slipcase cover, and as a limited vinyl edition of 300 copies on 180 g white vinyl.
