A STAR IS BORN. JESSIE REID’S NEW SINGLE ‘EVERY STRANGER’ RELEASED TODAY.

SHROPSHIRE-based JESSIE REID returns with another slice of poetic bliss today with the release of new single, ‘Every Stranger,’ an intimate dream-folk reflection on learning to cope during tough times and being open about mental health issues.

With a strong belief in the importance of talking openly about all things mental-health, Jessie wrote ‘Every Stranger’ about the feelings of grief after losing someone, whether through the breakdown of a relationship or friendship, or even death.

“For me, the grieving process consisted of ‘doom-scrolling’ Instagram, drinking too much, and seeing resemblances of the person I had lost in strangers as they passed by in the street,” she said.

“But ultimately this is a song of positivity and reflection – reflection on how we learn to cope during tough times and how we are stronger than we may think.”

The new single, with more than a nod to the simple harmonies of Saddle Creek’s favourite daughters Azure Ray and the stripped-back simplicity of early First Aid Kit, follows the release of the sublime single, ‘A Little Closer,’ a long–term fixture in Spotify’s ‘Most Beautiful Songs in the World’ playlist, along with sync placements on both ‘Made in Chelsea,’ and ‘Love Island.’
