“A spiritual connection.” Toronto’s SET FEUX drop new single: ‘Say It Again.’

OUT now from SET FEUX (Toronto-based musician Diana Planche) ‘Say It Again,’ a heady mix of Massive Attack beats, Tracy Thorn vocals, with a subtle twist of Dusty Springfield.

But even with Planche allowing those influences ample space to flourish, it remains her own distinct vocal qualities that will draw you in.

“Sometimes I feel unknown to myself and I’m searching for the world to reflect myself back,” she said. “The song explores the theme of the multiplicity that exists in all of us. I think when I wrote it, I was remembering the loneliness I felt in my childhood alongside a close spiritual connection. It’s a song partly about a longing to recapture some of that.”

Planche spent her formative years singing in church choirs and after finishing her studies in classical music at Queen’s University, began writing her own songs, before joining indie rock band ‘The Paint Movement.’

In 2015, Planche toured Europe with singer songwriter (and husband) ‘Barzin’ and began working on new material with longtime collaborator, Kevin Kralik (wearenotwhoweare, Mass Paves) for what would become, ‘Set Feux.’

The new single is taken from the self-titled debut album, five years in the making, scheduled for an April release, and was mixed by Howie Beck in Toronto, and mastered by Joao Carvalho.
